We are two directors, a board of advisors, a support team and collaborators in the UK and overseas. We are passionate about developing leaders and work with clients from across diverse sectors, backgrounds and communities.

Rev. Dr. Kate Coleman

Kate is the founding director of Next Leadership with over 35 years of leadership experience in the church, charity, voluntary, and business sectors. She is a mentor and coach to leaders from diverse sectors, backgrounds and communities.

As the first black woman Baptist minister in the UK, Kate has been a trailblazer, recognised among the 20 most influential Black Christian women in the country (2008) and was honoured as one of the top 25 Women Racial Justice Champions by Churches Together in Britain & Ireland (2021). Her dedication to justice and equality has left a significant mark across various communities.

Kate is a sought-after speaker, lecturer, and author (7 Deadly Sins of Women in Leadership and more recently Metamorph: Transforming Your Life and Leadership). She is widely regarded as a visionary and an inspiration. Kate now works as a strategic advisor, mentoring and coaching leaders and organisations locally, nationally, and internationally, with a network that reaches across all sectors and church denominations.

Her contributions have been featured in the mainstream press, radio, and TV. Kate is a Certified Stakeholder Centered Coach and a former Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

Rev. Cham Kaur-Mann

Cham is co-director of Next Leadership with over 25 years of leadership experience across church, charity, and voluntary sectors.

As the first South Asian woman minister within the Baptist Union of Great Britain, Cham has been a pioneer, mentoring and supporting leaders from a wide range of sectors, backgrounds, and communities. She is a Certified Stakeholder Centered Coach, the former Lead Trainer for Cinnamon Network, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

Renowned for her unique and compelling ability to ‘story a story’, Cham regularly writes blogs and is the author of ‘Images of Jesus’ and ‘Are there traditional “women’s ministries”?’.

Her passion lies in encouraging, empowering, and developing leaders to reach their full potential, wherever they may serve.

In November 2025, Cham’s exceptional trailblazing contributions were formally acknowledged and celebrated at an event dedicated to honouring and recognising pioneering individuals during the 15th Anniversary of the UK Evangelical Alliance’s South Asian Forum (SAF).
